Advertising Disclosure
Readers deserve to know how a publication is funded and how that funding is kept away from its editorial judgment. This page explains both.
How Living Root is supported
Living Root is published by ZN Digital Ventures LLC and is supported by advertising. Reading the Site costs nothing; advertising revenue covers the cost of researching, writing, illustrating, and distributing our articles. The Site may display advertisements and may publish clearly labeled sponsored content.
Advertisements on the Site
Advertisements may be delivered by third-party advertising networks and placed in designated spaces on our pages. Those networks choose which advertisements to show, sometimes using the technologies described in our Cookie Notice, and our editorial team has no part in that choice. An advertisement's appearance on Living Root is not an endorsement of the advertiser, its products, or its claims, and advertisers are solely responsible for their content.
Sponsored content
Sponsored content is material paid for by a sponsor. When Living Root publishes it, it carries the label "Sponsored" prominently at the top of the page, is visually distinct from editorial articles, and names the sponsor. Sponsored content is never presented as an editorial article, and our editorial team applies the same standards to health language in sponsored material that it applies to its own writing.
Affiliate links
If an article ever contains affiliate links, meaning links through which Living Root may earn a commission, that article will carry a disclosure at the top and this page will describe the program. Such links never influence which topics we cover or what we say about them.
Promoting our own articles
We may run advertising campaigns on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram to bring new readers to our articles. Those campaigns link to the same editorial content that every other visitor sees. We use measurement tools, including the Meta Pixel, to understand whether those campaigns are reaching readers, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Editorial independence
Advertising and sponsorship never influence which topics we cover, what our articles say, or which sources we cite. Our writers and editors work without knowing which advertisements will appear beside their articles. See our Editorial Policy for how we choose topics and sources.
